    Yes, ma'am!

Hello! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Chris, and I'm neither a composer OR a film score. But I have a strong appreciation for both. :)

    Cheers!

    Hola!

I just found this tribe...and I'm ALREADY enjoying the posts!

I'm a composer/musician (among other things) and have a strong background as a keyboard performer.

I have worked in broadcast/film/TV soundtrack development...however, mainly as a sound-design (Foley) specialist.

I have a number of compositions that have been used for various presentations...Yet my goal of *becoming* a film composer is still un-fulfilled...

as a serious effort is required to make it to THAT point...I network VERY aggressively...(and that's a whole 'nother thread)

I'm very much looking forward to getting to know ALL of you

    PEACE.Out

    Hi. I'm Carvin Knowles.

My most famous piece of music plays while Jason Biggs screws an apple pie. Everybody needs their claim to fame.

My mom thinks I write porno music but it's realy just typecasting. I'm a legit orchestral composer. No really! Honest....

Hey, that's cool Carvin! I've been wanting to get the scores for the American Pie movies for quite some time now! Which means, I want your music too apparently. :)

As for me I'm a sound designer for theatre, and since I'm not a composer or anything, I would love to do overall design and editing for film as well.

You won't find my music on the soundtrack album. Long story invovling the intricacies of Universal's corporate structure. But the track "Love Muscle" is on an album called "Sex-0-Rama II" on Oglio Records.

        Weird. We're practically family.

That may be my oddest connection yet on Tribe.

    Anyhow

I'm a composer in the Bay area, mostly do work for video games and Short animations.

I do alot of programming and editing and sound design for the current crop of Orchestral Sample Libraries on the market, as well as some wrk for custom libraries for working composers.

I'm hoping to atleast get some work in TV in the future. I dont think I'm good enought to do the type of film work I'd lie to do. I've got to get my orchesration chops up to par.

    Ok,

So, I've been lurking for a little bit... my name is Andrew, and I am a musician(8years of guitar, self taught) who has recently become very interested in creating cinematic film&game music. I've always loved film music specifically, and orchestral music as a whole, so learning now how to do this myself is exhilerating. I have some samples of my early stuff up at www.mp3.com.au/andrewwonders
Most of it is pretty simplistic, but I figure it's a decent start... would love to hear anyone else's opinions and suggestions... so glad this tribe is here!

Far out, this thread's a year old, but people are still introducing themselves. Might as well do the same. I'm currently a guitar teacher to pay the bills, but I've composed music for choreographers and wrote a score to one of my own screenplays as a fun exercise. Someday I'll start chasing down indie filmmakers and see if they'd like some music. :0

And I've been in a serious A.R. Rahman kick lately, listening to Warriors of Heaven and Earth and Bombay Dreams. That guy's work floors me!

    Hi!

I'm Jeanie. I think I've been a fan of film scores since I was a little kid. My dad had a copy of Nino Rotas "Juliet of the Spirits" I danced around and danced to it for years. Sadly I think I destroyed that album.

I remember not buying the Dudley Moore soundtrack to "Bedazzled" in 1982 for $100 and regretting it for 20 years. Finding "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" album at a thrift store and cherishing it.

Most of my soundtracks are from movies no one ever sees, and random composers.

    Goran Bregovic
    Carter Burwell
Michael Convertino (Bodies, Rest & Motion)
Gabriel Yared (Map of the Human Heart)

Oh and even Henry Mancini, gotta love that Baby elephant walk.

      Hi everyone,

I am an accomplished musician of World traditions. Very well trained in the Western traditions, I moved on to study with masters in Africa and Vietnam.

I play piano and guitar well, as well as being a strong vocalist, but it is my World Music that makes me stand out. I am most accomplished at the Kora (West African harp) and the Dan Tranh (Vietnamese zither). Both instruments have a meditative, ethereal quality. I am also adept at djembe (hand drum of West Africa).

I love to play with jazz and rock ensembles and I would love to work on film scores sometime... even something like a scene of a guy screwing a pie! (LMFHO!)

    Hi...
I'm Daveed, a composer/percussionist, looking to expand my horizons in new directions. I have been writing music for dance for many years and it is time to take the music to new heights. That's how I came upon this tribe.

My website is www.drumfest.com. there are numerous mp3's that can give you an idea of what i have been working on.

Looking forward to making new connections and learning about bringing my music to the screen.

    Shalom...Daveed

I'm in love with an American film maker/composer/all-round talented guy, and I'm here to find out about the indy film industry in Vancouver, BC, Canada, to help my sweety with some local connections once he moves here in the fall.
